Privacy policy

The short version: I only keep your email if you give it to me, I only use it to tell you about new chapters, and I delete it when you ask. The long version, below.

Tres Silencios is a personal literary project, not for profit. There's no company behind it, no advertising, no selling of data.

What data I collect and why

• Your email address, only if you type it into the "Count me in" form. I use it to send you a notice when a new chapter of the novel is published. Nothing else: no promotions, no handing it to third parties.
• Nothing else. I don't ask for a name, a phone number, or a user account.

Legal basis

Your consent (art. 6.1.a of the General Data Protection Regulation), which you give by checking the box and sending the form. You can withdraw it at any time, without affecting what was done before.

How long I keep your email

Until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it, or until the project ends and I stop sending notices. Every notice will include a way to unsubscribe.

Who else sees your data (data processors)

• Netlify, Inc. (San Francisco, USA), which hosts the site and receives and stores the forms. Netlify is certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and applies the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. More information: netlify.com/privacy.
• Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, Paris, France — EU), which keeps the list of readers and sends the confirmation email and the notices of new chapters. Signing up uses double opt-in: your email only joins the list when you click the link you receive. Brevo acts as a data processor under contract and its servers are in the European Union. I don't sell, rent, or hand your email to anyone. It isn't used for advertising.

Cookies and storage on your device

This site uses no cookies, its own or third-party. There's no Google Analytics, no social media pixels, no trackers.

The reader stores two things in your own browser (localStorage), strictly technical and necessary for it to work: where you are in your reading, so you can pick up where you left off, and that you've confirmed you're over 18. That data never leaves your device and is never sent to me. Being technically necessary, it's exempt from consent (art. 22.2 of Spanish Law 34/2002, LSSI). You can delete it by clearing the site's data in your browser.

Reading statistics

To know whether the novel is being read, the site counts, in aggregate and anonymously, how many times each chapter is opened and how far people get. That count stores no IP address, no cookies, and no identifier that would make it possible to know who you are or follow you between visits. It's a counter, not a profile.

Your rights

You can exercise at any time your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing, and portability, and withdraw your consent, by writing to contacto@tressilencios.com. I'll answer within a month. If you believe I haven't respected your rights, you can file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).

Minors

Tres Silencios is fiction for adults. The site is not aimed at anyone under 18 and I don't knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has given me their email, write to me and I'll delete it.

Security

The site is always served over HTTPS. Access to the collected emails is protected by the authentication of the Netlify and Brevo accounts, and only I have it.

Changes to this policy

If anything relevant changes (for example, the email provider), I'll update it here and change the date below.
